Join us as we begin our 55th year of Summer Hockey Camp!  We are excited to offer 4 dynamite weeks of camp in Lake Placid, NY for you to choose from.  Whatever your needs as a player, CAN/AM has a program designed to maximize your skill development.

Residence Life

Welcome to Northwood School, home of the CAN/AM Summer Hockey Camp in Lake Placid! Hockey at Northwood has a tradition of outstanding achievement; both players and coaches have gone on to renowned careers at collegiate and professional levels.

CAN/AM is proud to bring it’s own tradition of excellence to this campus. Dormitories provide double rooms, group lounges, a game room and awesome sports facilities. Imagine a gymnasium with an indoor soccer field and areas for team training. Outdoors you’ll find two fields for outdoor training and hiking trails. The auditorium and classrooms provide the ultimate hockey training facility plus all the amenities that a prep school setting has to offer!

Meals

The Camp cafeteria at Northwood School offers tasty “all you can eat” options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A cafeteria staff who has fed active Northwood students all year, will design a special menu for our hockey players, something for the hearty as well as the picky eater. A Spacious dining room offers a place to relax, enjoy a meal and visit with campers and staff. Don’t worry about your camper going hungry between meals or at night. Ample vending machine snacks and beverages are available so that our hockey players have the energy to meet the demands of our training camp!

Arena Facilities

Campers will experience the thrill and challenge of training on the ice surfaces of the Lake Placid Olympic Center. On this surface 44 years ago a group of athletes, facing incredible odds, attained their goal andreached the ultimate achievement, the Gold Medal, a symbol of the best. This Olympic hockey tradition sets the standard for each camper’s performance on the ice. Permanent locker rooms provide the pre and post game group interaction that is a vital part of the “team” concept. Across from the Olympic facility is a full line pro shop providing skate sharpening, equipment purchase and repair. Campers truly leave camp with a feeling that they have been on the ice in a very special place!

Situated in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, Lake Placid is easily accessible from the Eastern Seaboard and Central Canada via the Adirondack Northway (Highway 87). Approximate auto travel distances from major cities are: Boston 300 miles, Hartford 250 miles, Philadelphia 375 miles, New York City 300 miles, Montreal 175 km, Toronto 520 km, and Albany 140 miles.
