Join the CAN/AM Hockey Group for an action-packed Tier II Girls Hockey Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin, featuring U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-19 divisions.

Our exclusive Challenge Cup tournament format guarantees 4 games per team, ensuring maximum ice time and fierce competition across all age groups. The top 4 teams in each division will battle for Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals on Sunday. All games will take place at Legacy20 Arena Middleton, the premier hockey venue in Madison. With play running from Friday to Sunday, this tournament is the perfect preparation for state, regional, and national competitions.

Scouts from NCAA D-3 and ACHA D-I universities attended previous seasons’ tournaments and will be in attendance again, providing excellent exposure for players.

Experience Madison, a top destination for women’s hockey, home to the 2019 NCAA Division 1 National Champion University of Wisconsin Badger Women’s Hockey Team. This vibrant college town offers a variety of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment options, all nestled around the iconic University campus and historic State Capitol Building. Madison has a rich hockey history, with numerous collegiate, Olympic, and professional players and coaches calling it home.

The per person price includes hotel, tournament, and gate fees for the weekend. Hotel fees, taxes, and gratuity are included. Hotel parking is not included. The per person occupancy fee is based on the number of adults and players in each room. Minors are free and do not affect occupancy. There are no additional fees for the event. Fees are in USD.

*One adult required per room.

**All non-playing minors 17 and under are free. Minors do not affect the occupancy. Minors stay with parent(s) in existing bed space.

For teams traveling a long distance, we suggest a Thursday arrival. Select additional night during checkout process.

This Local Team Fee is for teams that live within 60 miles of the tournament location. Rates are in US funds and are tax inclusive.

As a condition of acceptance, all out of town teams more than 60 miles from Madison must reserve rooms and stay at one of our authorized hotels. Your families will conveniently make and pay for their hotel reservations right on the CAN/AM Hockey website.

Tournament Info

Welcome to the CAN/AM Girls Challenge Cup in vibrant Madison, WI! Get ready for an unforgettable tournament experience. We’ve done the planning so you can focus on enjoying your ultimate hockey weekend.

Tournament Headquarters will be located in the lobby of Legacy20 Arena Middleton. Here, you’ll find posted standings, locker room assignments, tournament souvenirs, and our friendly CAN/AM staff. Tournament Central is where your Team Representative will check in before your first game and receive tournament materials, along with special player souvenirs for each participant.

Games will be played at Legacy20 Arena Middleton. Your game schedule will be available about one week before the tournament date. All teams are guaranteed 4 games, with the first game starting Friday at 7:30 AM. After the round-robin games, the top four teams in each division will advance to the Sunday Medal Championship games. By Saturday night, the matchups will be set. Will your team make it to the Medal Games on Sunday morning? Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal Games will be completed by 3:00 PM on Sunday.

In all divisions, Gold, Silver, and Bronze CAN/AM Championship medals will be awarded to each player. Gold Medal teams will also receive a special Challenge Cup Championship plaque and a first-place CAN/AM banner to display at their home arena.

Throughout the weekend, the CAN/AM staff will be available to assist you with anything you need, from directions to tournament details to recommendations for local attractions. Our goal is to ensure you have a top-tier hockey experience, both on and off the ice. This professional event for amateur players has become an annual tradition for many teams, and we can’t wait to host your team in Madison!

Tournament Sanctioning

The Challenge Cup is a USA Hockey sanctioned tournament. USA Hockey rules will be followed with additional CAN/AM tournament rules. Once you register, a copy of the CAN/AM rules will be available for review. US teams must provide a signed Official USA Hockey Roster 60 days prior to the tournament (some states also require a Travel Permit). Canadian teams must submit the required Travel Permit and Official Hockey Roster issued by their governing body (i.e. GTHL, OMHA, Hockey Quebec, etc). No team will be allowed to participate in the tournament without submitting this information.
