History

CAN/AM Hockey's journey began in 1969 with the launch of our first summer hockey program. From the very beginning, our focus was on delivering high-quality training that would help players grow their skills while fostering a love for the game. As the 1970s unfolded, we quickly became a leader in youth and adult hockey training camps, known for our commitment to excellence and the development of hockey players at all levels.

In the early 1980s, CAN/AM expanded its offerings, introducing a full-service, package tournament specifically designed for adult recreational hockey teams. This innovative format proved to be a resounding success, and it wasn’t long before we adapted it for the youth market. Our first youth tournament, held in Lake Placid, NY, began with just 12 teams over one weekend. This modest start marked the beginning of something extraordinary. Over the decades, CAN/AM tournaments grew exponentially, eventually hosting over 1400 youth teams annually and welcoming more than 63,000 players, parents, and family members to the best tournament experience in all of hockey.

Today, CAN/AM Hockey is not only known for its world-class training camps but also for organizing prestigious tournaments that bring together top talent from across North America. Our camps provide personalized training with expert coaches who are committed to helping athletes reach their full potential, while our tournaments offer competitive environments that allow players to showcase their skills and build lasting memories.

We owe our continued success to the dedicated players, families, and fans who have supported us throughout our history. Nothing means more to us than our customers. We take immense pride in seeing players return to our programs year after year, and we are especially proud of the many former campers who now bring their children to experience the CAN/AM tradition.
