This Local Team Fee is for teams that live within 60 miles of the tournament location. Rates are in US funds and are tax inclusive.

As a condition of acceptance, all out of town teams more than 60 miles from Pittsburgh must reserve rooms and stay at one of our authorized hotels. Your families will conveniently make and pay for their hotel reservations right on the CAN/AM Hockey website.

Tournament Info

Get ready for the ultimate hockey weekend at the CAN/AM Challenge Cup in Pittsburgh, PA! We’ve got everything covered to ensure you and your team experience an unforgettable tournament. While we take care of the details, you focus on playing great hockey and enjoying the weekend.

Tournament Headquarters will be located in the lobby of Rober Morris Island Sports Center, where you can find standings, locker room assignments, souvenirs, and photos. As always, the friendly CAN/AM Staff will be on hand to answer questions, provide information, and assist your team with any needs. Your Team Rep will register before your first game and receive tournament instructions, plus special player souvenirs.

Games will take place at RMU Island Sports Center. Your game schedule will be sent out a week before the tournament, with all teams guaranteed at least four games. The action kicks off Saturday morning at 7:00 AM. Once round-robin play wraps up, the top four teams in each division will head to the Monday Medal Games, where the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be decided by late afternoon.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze CAN/AM Championship medals will be awarded to each player, with Gold Medal teams also receiving a special Challenge Cup plaque and a Gold Medal banner to proudly hang in their home arena.

Throughout the weekend, the CAN/AM staff will be there to guide you, answer any questions, and ensure you and your players have a seamless experience, both on and off the ice. Our mission is to provide a top-tier hockey experience that your team will remember year after year. That’s why so many teams return to the CAN/AM Challenge Cup for an annual hockey tradition. Tournament Sanctioning

The Challenge Cup is a USA Hockey sanctioned tournament. USA Hockey rules will be followed with additional CAN/AM tournament rules. Once you register, a copy of the CAN/AM rules will be available for review. US teams must provide a signed Official USA Hockey Roster 60 days prior to the tournament (some states also require a Travel Permit). Canadian teams must submit the required Travel Permit and Official Hockey Roster issued by their governing body (i.e. GTHL, OMHA, Hockey Quebec, etc). No team will be allowed to participate in the tournament without submitting this information.
