Family Camp
Experience the thrill of bonding with your child both on and off the ice in a way that only Family Camp can provide! This unique program offers parents and children the chance to be on the ice together, creating memories and strengthening your bond as you experience the camp side by side. Every moment is an opportunity to enjoy the excitement of hockey together.
Ice times are tailored to include specific sessions and drills focused on adults, youth, and combined parent-child activities. Just imagine, instead of watching your son’s or daughter’s passing practice from the sidelines, you’ll be on the other end of that two-on-one drill, practicing alongside them. And when it’s time to work on bending those knees, it’s “right back at you, mom or dad”! This hands-on experience is all about shared growth, fun, and teamwork, ensuring you’re both learning and laughing together.
Off the ice, you'll dive into the same training as your child, with our popular Techniques and Tactics Sessions. This off-ice component helps both you and your child enhance your hockey IQ and skills.
This is your chance to enjoy the game together in every way, creating memories that will last a lifetime! Make this summer one to remember in Lake Placid!
Our Goal
At CAN/AM Family Camp, our goal is to provide a unique, enriching experience that brings families together through the love of hockey. We’re dedicated to creating an environment where both parents and children can grow and develop as players, building lasting memories and strengthening family bonds on and off the ice.
Led by experienced coaches who specialize in all aspects of the game, our camp offers personalized instruction for every participant, ensuring that each player, whether adult or child, receives the guidance and support needed to improve their skills. From focused skating and stickhandling drills to small area games and controlled scrimmages, we offer a comprehensive hockey experience that caters to every level.
Beyond skill development, our camp emphasizes teamwork, fun, and shared experiences. We believe in fostering connections that go beyond hockey, encouraging families to bond through on-ice training and off-ice activities. Our goal is for every family to leave with a stronger relationship, better hockey skills, and memories that will last a lifetime.
At CAN/AM Family Hockey Camp, we’re not just focused on improving your game, we’re focused on creating an unforgettable family experience that celebrates hockey, fun, and togetherness.

Things to Do
Having hosted two Winter Olympics, Lake Placid is speckled with Olympic sites, museums and memories. No trip to Lake Placid is complete without soaking up some of the Olympic flavor. One of the more stunning Olympic venues happens to be the trip up Veterans Memorial Highway which leads to the top of Whiteface Mountain. At the top of the mountain, you can choose to climb the stairs to the summit, or you can take an elevator which runs through the granite near Whiteface. From the summit, on a clear day you can see the skyline of Montreal, as well as the length of the 110-mile-long Lake Champlain.
If Whiteface doesn’t quench your panoramic fever, take a trip to the Ski Jumping complex. The 90 and 120-meter jumps have been the proving grounds for many World Champions and Olympians alike. The 120-meter jump tower features a skydeck, accessible by chairlift and elevator that will give you a sky-high perspective on the art of the Ski Jump. At the complex, you will also find the U.S. Freestyle aerial water training facility. Mt. Van Hoevenberg is the site of the Luge and Bobsled events. You can take a ride on the summer-rigged bobsleds or luges.
Travel
If you are making arrangements to fly to camp, there are three major airports to choose from: Montreal, QC, Burlington, VT and Albany, NY. Each airport is about 2 hours from Lake Placid. In addition to the airports listed above, you may be able to find flights into the following small airports: Lake Clear is about 30 minutes away, and Plattsburgh, NY is a 50-minute ride. Lake Placid Airport also provides a landing strip for small planes.
